I've been an actor for years and rarely have the opportunity to work on unapologetic stories that tackle challenging issues, center women, and give voice to those who may be unable to speak their truths. And while I have very little control in which plays I get to participate in as an actor, I've discovered I have boundless agency over what stories get told as a writer. So after a decade of acting in plays and films, I decided it was time to stop hungering to find these projects and start feeding on my own power to create them. |
